Two Powerful Mindset Shifts to Unblock Your Potential

Things in your life are changing—you feel it. You may also feel stuck after a significant loss or life change.

And despite the successes you’ve achieved on the outside, the inner you wants more – more alignment with who you really are – and who you want to become.

However, despite your best efforts to move forward into the new version of you, you keep getting tripped up and right back where you started. You're circling the same thoughts, making the same choices, and wondering why change feels just out of reach.

The truth? It’s not your circumstances holding you back. It’s the stories you’ve been telling yourself about you, your life, and certain life events you’ve experienced. Those narratives that you have unconsciously woven into your life have created identities that are not serving you. If you want to unlock your potential, these are the two essential places to start.

1. The Stories You Keep Telling Yourself

The mind is a masterful storyteller, and for years—decades, even—you’ve been the main character in a script you didn’t intentionally write. The stories you tell yourself shape your reality, dictating what you believe is possible.

“I’ve always been this way.”
“I’m not the kind of woman who can have that.”
“It’s too late for me.”
“I’m not smart enough.”

Sound familiar?

These stories feel true because you’ve repeated them so often that they have become a belief within you. But are they really true?

The difference between the woman who up-levels her life and the woman who remains in place isn’t luck—it’s narrative. Personal transformation begins when you rewrite your inner script.

Get out a journal and notebook and really begin to excavate those beliefs and identities that you have. Don’t rush this. Depending on your life circumstances, this could take time. However, it’s worth it. Because once you finally become aware of these unhealthy beliefs about yourself, you can finally flip the script.

Ask yourself:

  • What are the stories I am telling about myself and my life?

  • Where do these stories come from? Family? An old comment from a teacher? Stories that society has made me believe about myself? Belittling from an ex-partner?

  • What beliefs have I held for years that may no longer serve me?

  • What if the opposite of these beliefs were true?

  • How would my life change if I released these stories?

Your next level doesn’t require force—it requires awareness. The moment you shift your story, you shift your life.

2. The Identities You’re Clinging To

Your identity is not fixed, but too often, we treat it as if it is.

You may have built a life around being the responsible one, the perfectionist, the people-pleaser, the woman who always plays it safe. Even if these identities now feel suffocating, they are familiar. And familiarity feels safe.

But here’s the question: Who would you be if you let go of those identities that no longer serve you?

When a woman begins to step into the life she truly desires—it’s not because she forced herself to “fix” her habits. It’s because she became a woman who naturally lives at that level.

Try this:

  • Close your eyes and imagine the highest version of yourself. How does she carry herself? How does she speak? What does she believe about herself?

  • Identify one old identity that no longer fits. Decide, here and now, to release it.

  • Each morning, embody your next-level self—even in the smallest ways. Dress in a way that makes you feel her energy, make choices from her mindset, and move through the world as if you already are her.

Once you’ve got that picture of your future self in mind, create a Pinterest board around that new identity, create a music playlist that embodies this new you, or create a new morning routine that your future self would have. The possibilities are endless. Make this fun!

Practice being that future you as often as possible. And slowly, over time, you will realize that you have become her.

Your Transformation Is Here

The woman you dream of becoming is already within you. She’s simply waiting for you to clear the path.

Rewrite your stories. Release old identities. And practice being the new future you. Your beautiful life is waiting.
