My Philosophy
Like many of you, my path has not been a straight line. In my early 40s, I found myself at a heartbreaking crossroad
that required reimagining my life and who I wanted to be going forward.
The chapters of my story include the expected and unexpected: the quiet of an empty nest after my children left home, a health challenge that required my attention, the profound grief after losing my father, a career reinvention, returning to school to up-level my education, downsizing my living space—multiple times, and the midlife reassessment of what I wanted my second half of life to look like.
When we go through these valleys, we have a choice to make: we can get stuck in the past, or we can let these experiences fuel our growth. I chose the latter. Through counseling, life coaching, reading, studying, journaling, and relentlessly doing the inner and outer work, I've discovered that life sometimes forces us to reinvent ourselves—and that process can be a beautiful, transformative journey if we let it.
Violette Lane combines both personal significance and intentional symbolism. The violet is the official flower of my birth month in February. It symbolizes love, faithfulness, and humility—some of the qualities, I believe, that create the foundation for a beautiful life. "Lane" represents leaving the past behind and forging a new path for ourselves. As my father always said, “There’s only one way—and that’s forward." So, combined, the name Violette Lane holds a special meaning for me and was the perfect fit when it came to deciding the name of my website.
My hope is that this blog will offer beauty, inspiration, and valuable tools for women who are:
Reimagining their purpose after going through a significant life change
Ready for a life makeover – or simply wanting to level-up from where they are now
Desiring to create a life of wellness, an elevated mindset, and quiet elegance
We live our lives in seasons, and each season brings its joys and challenges. However, if we choose to grow through them with grace, openness, curiosity, and gratitude, each stage can be extraordinary. With the right mindset, practical tools, and vision, we can create lives of meaning and beauty—not despite our experiences—but because of them.
The wisdom that is hard-earned during those seasons, the resilience that is developed, and the clarity that each chapter gives us are gifts. My mission is to help you recognize and use these gifts to craft a life that reflects your truest values and heart’s desires. I have done it—and continue to do it as I face new challenges—and so can you.
